Alfred, more commonly known by his number, 98462, is a character in DTBEN10's Thomas and Friends Series. He was one of the first engines to be brought on trial for the North Western Railway.

Alfred, also known as 98462 was a horrible, rude, stuck up, disrespectful and self-entitled engine. He treated others like dirt, belittled them and even went as far as to kill another engine if they take his glory,

Season 4[]
"The Goldust Miracle"[]
Alfred first appears in a flashback as Edward tells the other engines a story. He explains he was a very rude engine, known as 98462. He was a right rascal. Alfred was always jealous of the attention Lady got because she was the source of the magic gold dust. One night, Alfred went to her shed was she was sleeping, and blew it up with her in it. After that, Alfred was sentenced to scrap.

Alfred appears as a ghost in front of Lady after she saw Emily shove Randall into fuel tankers asking her if it reminds her of something.
"The Ties That Bind"[]
Alfred was seen in Lady's flashback when she explained to Rosie that she was bullied by all of the engines, especially him.
"How It All Began"[]
In a flashback, at a station, Alfred is seen with the other engines, who were amazed at Lady. Alfred was the only one who did not care one bit about Lady and decides to start an argument which Henry fires back at him. Edward and Eagle tell Henry to leave him be and he is not worth the stress, and Alfred left.
Later on, Lady was steaming down the line when Alfred bashed into her. He stated that she was his problem. He was the most popular engine on the railway before she was built and made with her gold dust. Lady told Alfred to deal with it, calling him a pathetic excuse for an LNER engine and bumps him back. Alfred tells her she will regret bumping him but Lady did not care and left.
Later on, Lady saw Alfred again but tried to ignore him but then crashed into a goods train.
The next morning, Lady arrived at Alfred's shed and woke him up, asking him why he crashed her. Alfred explained how he told her she would be sorry for bumping him and insulting him. Lady said she was not sorry and Alfred assured that her life will get a lot worse.
Later on, Lady was in a siding by herself, claiming she could not take it anymore. Alfred comes up to her again. Lady tells him to go away, claiming he has terrorized her for weeks. Alfred completed refused because he once again stated he was the pride of the line until she came and ruined it for him. Lady simply ran off.
That night, Alfred came with a fuel tanker to Lady's shed. Alfred knew Lady cursed the railway with her magic and decides to kill her once and for all because of it. He shoved the tanker into Lady's shed, burning her alive. Some of the engines arrived to the scene and were horrified.
The next morning, Alfred tries to explain that Lady cursed the island but none of the other engines believed him. Alfred was sentenced to scrap for killing Lady and Henry shunted him to the scrapyards.
At the scrapyards, Alfred claimed he did the engines a favor and was irritated with how he was repaid. Then, Lady's ghost appears saying her final words to him and Alfred was scrapped.
